End or change who serves in a guardianship
A guardianship gives a person legal authority to make certain decisions for another person or to manage that person’s money or property. A guardianship continues until the court ends it or approves a change. After a guardianship is created, there may be situations where someone needs to ask the court to:
- End the guardianship.
- Remove the current guardian and appoint someone else.
- Allow a guardian to resign.
The court must approve these changes. The process and forms you need depend on what you are asking the court to do and the current guardianship order. This eligibility review will ask a few questions about the current Nevada guardianship and what you want the court to do. Your answers will help you find the right next step and, when available, the correct forms interview.
Answer Questions
You will answer questions about the guardianship, the adult or child, and what you want the court to do. You will only answer the questions that apply to your request.
Complete Court Forms
If one of the available workflows fits, a separate guided interview will ask for the details needed to complete the court forms for your request. You can review your answers before creating the forms.
File Your Documents
You can download and review your forms, then file them with the court handling the guardianship. The guided interview will explain the next steps, but it does not file or serve the forms for you.
